The Tri-Lakes area of northern El Paso County in Colorado boasts two wonderful communities; Monument and Palmer Lake. Monument, Colorado, at 7135 feet Elevation, has all the charm of small town living with the convenience of being close to Colorado Springs to the south. Situated next to Pike National Forest to the west, this community has wonderful views of the mountains and the picturesque Air Force Academy grounds. The neighboring community of Palmer lake shares the same schools and the befits of being a small town. The downtown are across from the lake has several great restaurants and is a wonderful place to spend an afternoon. The homes in Palmer lake are older and on smaller lots than Monument to the east. Founded in 1974 by General William Jackson Palmer, this town has plenty of history and character.
