Aladdin and Tales from 1,001 Nights

Presented by Imagination Celebration
August 2 – August 10, 2014

Travel back to the Islamic Golden Age and hear the fair Scheherazade tell her stories over 1,001 Nights to try to preserve her freedom and help the Sultan heal his broken heart. And join Aladdin on his adventures in seeking the hand of the fair Princess Badroulbadour, with this help of his family, friends, some good luck, and his wonderful lamp.

These two family fun and original performances run just over an hour, so audiences can come to see one or both in the same day, and participate in fun activities between the shows.

76th Annual Bronc Day Festival

The 76th Annual Bronc Day Festival will be on Saturday, August 2nd in Green Mountain Falls.
The day starts with a pancake breakfast at the fire station. A parade at 10 a.m. includes fire engines, floats, antique cars, clowns, cowboys, gunfighters, kids on decorated bicycles and more. This year’s parade theme is Wild Wild West Steampunk.

The rest of the day features fun for the whole family including a rubber duckie race, kid’s games, a radio controlled model boat races on the Gazebo Lake. There will also be a 26-feet-high air slide, Disney bouncer and dozens of arts & crafts booths.

Annual Colorado Springs Native American Festival and Traditional Powwow

Celebrate Native history and culture at this family-friendly event. Experience Native drums and dancers, Native art and artisans, a live wolf exhibit, a birds of prey exhibit by HawkQuest, children’s activities, and plenty of Native vendors and food. The event is a Traditional Powwow, where American Indians from all tribes meet together to join in dancing, singing, visiting, renewing old friendships and making new ones. Over 2,000 Native and non-Natives attended last years’ event. Drums by invitation only! For dancers, there will be several “Specials” plus door prizes! Bring chairs, as seating is limited. Also, please bring donations of non-perishable food to help feed the hungry. The event will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Grand Entry at 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. No drugs, alcohol or pets (except service animals) permitted. Everyone is welcome!

The Airplane Restaurant centerpiece is a fully intact Boeing KC-97 tanker. Built in 1953, this magnificent airplane refueled aircraft throughout the world. The 74th Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo starts July 9 with nightly performances through July 12, as well as a matinee performance on July 12. All evening performances begin at 7:15 p.m., Saturday matinee begins at 12:45 p.m.

Grounds open at 4:00 p.m. for evening performances and at 10:00 a.m. for the Saturday matinee. There’s lots to see and do before the rodeo, and parking is FREE!!

Meet historic characters like George Washington, Abraham Lincoln and Theodore Roosevelt.

Carnival games are available in the barn with prizes (tickets available for a nominal fee). Buy a hot dog or homemade ice cream. Visit the General Store for popcorn, candy sticks and Ranch-made merchandise, the Pop Shed for old fashioned soda beverages, and the Carriage House for pie and lemonade. Patriotic music will be performed by the Fountain Creek Brass Band.

The Tri-Lakes 4th of July Celebration is a full day of festivities for the whole family. The day begins with a pancake breakfast at St. Peter Catholic Church while the 33rd Annual Fun Run begins at the Palmer Lake Trailhead. The Annual Children’s parade begins at 9:30 followed by the Main Parade at 10:00, both sponsored by the Monument Hill Kiwanis Club. Along with the parade, the Tri-Lakes Chamber of Commerce Street Fair will showcase over 100 vendors on both Second and Washington Streets. Favorite festival foods, arts and crafts merchants, local businesses, art, woodworking and non-profit vendors just to name a few. Street Fair activities will continue until 3:00 pm with the Street Dance / Concerts from 3:00 until 9:00 pm.

Cripple Creek’s 4th of July Celebration

Since 1900, Cripple Creek’s 4th of July Celebration has been recognized as one of the best 4th of July events in Colorado. This patriotic community knows how to celebrate, and the 4th of July Celebration is a much-anticipated event.

2014 PPIHC FAN FEST

Downtown Colorado Springs

June 27th, 2014

Fan Fest is the annual pre-race celebration held in downtown Colorado Springs (Tejon St. between Colorado Ave. & Bijou St.) promoting the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. This event is FREE and typically features a large Budweiser beer garden,a chili cook-off, Red Bull motorcycle jumpers as well as other live entertainment. Top race qualifiers will display their vehicles (cars, quads, motorcycles, etc.), give driver demos and be present for autograph sessions.

In addition, the PPIHC mobile museum will be on-site and exclusive PPIHC merchandise will be available for purchase.

The 2014 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb Fan Fest will be held on Friday, June 27th, 2014. Fan Fest is expected to once again bring over 30,000 people to beautiful downtown Colorado Springs.

Fan Fest begins at 5:00 pm and goes until 10:00 pm.
